'50s Vintage Telecaster® Blackguard Style Bobbin Kit

By far the best and most consistent Tele pickup kit available! I tried the others before Tone Kraft came on the scene and now I only use TK kits. Internet "wisdom" says Alnico 3 is too bright and harsh. Well, maybe it's my superior winding technique (smirk), but I have never had that problem with the TK kits.

I ordered a set of these pickups some time back for Telecaster-type project that I was working on at the time. I was very, very impressed with the quality and care that goes into these bobbins, as well as their accessories, and the packaging. The only very minor gripe I have is that I'd prefer phillips over slotted screws, but that's a pretty tiny detail (actually, I'd like allen-head screws even better, but that's not exactly vintage!) The pickups have been in an old Fender of mine for some time, but I wanted to wait until I had them in the guitar they were intended for until I wrote this review. I have started to become interested in winding pickups. I had found all sorts of sites selling kits and flatwork. In all honesty, price was a motivating factor here, with the cost of this kit being only slightly more than some places charged for a single pickup I thought I would take a chance. What I received, completely blew me away. The product arrived quite fast and was packaged well. The box with the precision cut foam insert was a very nice way to present the package. The wiring and components were packaged very neatly in their own sealed bag. The pickup bobbins are very well done, no scratches or nicks. The pole pieces were already magnetized as well, which is absolutely wonderful as this is one less step in the process of winding the pickups. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with this product, from the fast ship time, to the very fair cost of shipping, to the care and attention to the product itself, just superb.

The pickup kit arrived and was in a very high quality box. Nice start.... Opened the box and found parts that exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to wind up my tele bridge and neck pickups!!!

My parts from Tone-Kraft are of the best quality. Currently, the majority of Eastgrove strat and tele style pickups are made with their parts. The ability to customize specifications removes much of the need for me to get individual custom parts from other companies to assemble my own bobbins. I can see using Tone-Kraft for quite some time. All my customers have loved the pups I have made with their parts.
