Product Overview

This kit includes 2 complete '60s vintage Jaguar® Style Pickup Bobbins. All bobbins are pre-assembled and ready for winding. (Magnet wire is NOT included in this kit, and must be purchased separately)

These are the same style bobbins from the guitar that inspired the surf rock age! Now you can custom wind a set of Jaguar® pickups to your own specifications.

Jaguar® "claws" not included. Jaguar® "claws" will be available soon.

 

Each vintage style bobbin kit includes: 

  • Vintage correct vulcanized fiber work (black or grey bottom flatwork 0.093",black top flatwork 0.062")
  • Eyelets made specifically for soldering (eyelet lip is on bottom side only providing smooth, snag-free winding)
  • 0.187" Alnico V vintage non staggered flush mounted sand cast polepiece magnets with vintage beveled top

    Good quality product

    The overall quality of the product is very good. The magnets look nice, the flatwork is clean and precise, and the assembly is very good. For the price, these are really a pretty good value. 2 things I would like to see changed: 1) The bobbins are not glued or lacquered. While it is not absolutely necessary to glue or lacquer a bobbin before winding it, it does greatly reduce the chance of warping. Many other companies provide the bobbins glued for a similar price, and it saves a lot of winders an additional step. 2) These pickup kits come with a lot of additional packaging. There are hang tags on the pickups, vacuum-sealed plastic bags for the lead wires, tone-kraft cardboard headers on the bags, and separate bags for the screws. To me, it's a lot of waste to continue promoting a product I have already purchased, and leads to significantly more waste than other companies provide when I purchase their bobbins. If the bobbins came glued, and the amount of packaging was greatly reduced, or replaced with something re-usable - even ziplock bags, then I would consider this product to be 5-star.

    Easy to wind Jag Bobbins!

    Great quality Jag bobbins, really easy to wind with no snags out of the box. The included covers are a perfect fit/match with Fender claws and the foam insert packaging is a really nice bonus. Thanks Tone Kraft!
