This Base Plate will boost your low frequencies (by increasing the inductance of the pickup) giving you a much fatter more rounder sound. Please note, although most commonly used in the bridge position, this base plate can be used for any pickup position.

  1. Fender Strat Bridge Plate

    Just installed one of the Tone Kraft bridge plates on the bridge pickup of my '83 Strat. Slight but noticeable difference in the treble response. Just a bit more bottom and smoother high end, not as harsh as stock setup. I can boost the treble setting on my amp now without getting that "ice pick in the ear" sound that Strats can get sometimes. Makes the guitar more versatile than it was. I like it and would recommend it to any Strat player.

    I made a custom SSS set for a $50 guitar. The neck was built as my favorite strat pickup. The middle was built to my favorite tele neck specs. And the bridge had this plate and was wound to my favorite tele bridge specs. Got done a day before the St. Louis guitar and amp show.... people loved they was that inexpensive guitar sounded... sounded amazing getting played through a custom built $2000 tube amp on display there (an amp specifically built for teles) This bass plate has helped me come up with the formula for a very fun set of pickups.
